Move In Day #1
          1) Ken was on call today, so it was just me. I don a mask while in the house since there was a cat in here, however, smell is not too bad. I spend two hours wiping down walls in the family room and removing a large assortment of spiders and a million staples from the wall!! This was obviously the kids play area. The carpet cleaners arrive to do the family room carpet.
2) Next I meet with a rep from Empire Carpets about replacing the upstairs carpet. We went to Home Depot and got a quote of around $2000 to do a decent burbur, however, HD takes a few weeks to get it in so we are trying Empire. Empire quotes us $4600. What the *%#!! I guess we'll wait a few weeks. FYI - we got $2000 in cash on close for new carpet.
3) I begin to prime the family room walls and cover up the pen and markings. We purchsed a $70 electric paint roller to speed up the job, but it becomes clear as it slowy sucks the paint from the can up a 10 ft tube that this is going to become more hassle than its worth. I paint two walls and spend an hour cleaning the machine. Dave (the carpet guy) at HD who is awesome and will be our new go to for all needs confirms that the better way to paint is a foam pad vs. old rollers. I'll let you know tommorrow, and post pics of our progress.
