RIP Pets

Just wanted to put these on here so we have a pic history. Have already lost all pics of our first set of ferrets (Misty and JR). Miko is looking up at the camera, Moe is by the shoe, and Pete (the lovebird). I will never get a bird again. That whole fiasco was started when we adopted Mojo from Kelsey when she went to college. Also in that mix was "The Baby." That rounds out the crew of Fechner pets that are now deceased.

Caution - Wild Boar (and its pissed!)

Plant or Animal?

We went to the Okinawa Aquarium today. Check out this video for something creepy! click here to view video

Yay! Ken is a free man!

The curfew has been lifted. Up until now, all service members were not allowed in public places after midnight. Now its only the very junior members who have to observe this. Maybe we'll go party this weekend to celebrate my birthday. This was all from a "non-incident" where a local girl claimed to have been raped, but the charges were dropped a few months ago and this curfew has still been in place. I can see how it is hard for the Okinawans to have to live with so many foreigners, but it is also hard to live over here with a double standard - as in ok for locals to do, but not foreigners. Eg. this lady was collecting cans from our recycle and got all upset at me when the dogs got in her face, even though the locals just let their dogs run free all the time. FYI even though the majority of Okinawans don't have a lot of money, there is really no one on the street. And this lady lives in the neighborhood, so maybe she just needs some spending money to buy more manure for her garden. As if the air wasn't already so thick from humidity, once a week it smells like cow dung too. You literally feel like you should shower just from opening the door. Hopefully there is a harvest soon.
